Jeanie and Andy Ohman
Andy has been the Administrator for Briar Hill Health Care Residence for the last 21 years. Stability of leadership, longevity of staff and family management make Briar Hill what it is today - one of the premier healthcare facilities in northeastern Ohio. Andy’s wife, Jeanie, plays an integral role in the planning and decorating of the facility. Our décor is warm and welcoming, thanks to her personal touch and caring.
Karen Hardman, R.N., Director of Nursing
Karen has worked for Briar Hill Health Care Residence since 1997, bringing with her many years of experience in a hospital setting. Karen was promoted to Director of Nursing after filling the role of the Clinical Care Coordinator at Briar Hill. Her dedication to our residents, families and staff is evident in the day-to-day management of our Nursing Department. Briar Hill Health Care Residence is very proud of the longevity and retention of our staff.
Vicki Wilson, Director of Admissions & Marketing
As the liaison for Briar Hill Health Care Residence, Vicki takes great pride in ensuring that each resident has a smooth transition from their home or the hospital to Briar Hill. She enjoys working with the residents and their families and is always available for private tours and consultations.
Linda Mohar, Licensed Social Worker
As the licensed social worker at Briar Hill Health Care Residence since 1994, Linda’s primary focus is providing each resident and their family support and guidance as they journey through their stay at Briar Hill. Each person’s situation is unique, whether the stay is for short-term rehab or long-term placement. Linda is always available to meet with families should they have any questions or concerns.
Becky Candow, Clinical Care Coordinator
Becky works on the nursing floor with the direct-care staff and facilitates the day-to-day efficiency of the units. To ensure continuity of care, Becky attends all physician rounds, maintaining an open line of communication at all times with the various physicians that attend to our residents.
Cynthia Judd, R.N., MDS Nurse
Cindy has been with Briar Hill since 1998 and enjoys our family-like atmosphere. As the MDS nurse, Cindy is responsible for coding and filing each resident’s case according to all state and federal regulations.
Susan Lashley, R.N., Restorative Nurse
It is our belief that each resident should maintain as much function, mobility and strength as possible, at all times. Susan’s responsibilities include supervising the Restorative Aides and ensuring that each qualified resident has an individualized daily routine of Restorative therapy. Susan began work with the residents of Holly Hill, our facility in Newbury, Ohio, in 1994 and joined the staff at Briar Hill in 2000.
Paula Poropat, L.P.N., Care Plan Nurse
Each resident at Briar Hill Health Care Residence has an individualized Plan of Care designed to meet their needs beginning on the first day of their admission to the facility. Paula is instrumental in coordinating each member of the Briar Hill staff to meet each resident’s medical and personal requirements.
Judy Knepper, Dietary Supervisor
Judy works closely with a registered dietitian and the dietary staff to ensure all meals are nutritious, appealing and meet the specific guidelines of each resident’s dietary plan. Our residents enjoy our large cheerful dining room and the varied menu selections. Judy comes to us from a hospital setting, employed at Briar Hill since 1997.
Carmen Hinkle, Activity Director
There are many opportunities for socialization, enhanced by unique and interesting individual and group activities, offered at Briar Hill Health Care Residence. Carmen leads our activity staff, ensuring each day is fun, entertaining and rewarding for our residents. Carmen joined Briar Hill in 1977 as a cook, then nurse’s aide, and finally moved to our sister facility, Blossom Hill, where she held the position of activities assistant. Eventually earning her Activities Director certification, she has again joined the staff at Briar Hill since 2002.
Mary Ann Gingerich, Administrative Office Staff
Mary Ann has worn many hats at Briar Hill Health Care Residence since her employment in 1978 – nurse’s aide, housekeeping and dietary aide! Many of our staff members have been with Briar Hill for years, where we are encouraged to grow as Christians and as happy, productive individuals. She currently processes billing for our residents and is the welcoming, smiling face in our reception window.
Amy Lawrence, Administrative Office Staff
Amy has been with Briar Hill Health Care Residence since 1999, coming to us after being employed at our accountant’s office. Like many of our staff members, Amy’s Grandmother resides at Briar Hill and enjoys our family atmosphere. Amy is responsible for handling the residents’ account funds and maintaining the payroll system, as well as other aspects of billing and accounts payable.
Barbara Bizjak, Housekeeping Supervisor
The quiet, elegant surroundings and home-like atmosphere of our campus is a source of great pride, and Barbara oversees our Housekeeping Department, ensuring our residents’ “home” is clean, fresh and inviting. Barbara is another of our “long-term employees”, having been with our facility since 1990.
Gene Eltringham, Maintenance Supervisor
Since 1994, Gene has been responsible for the maintenance of our buildings and grounds. His dedication, attention to detail and years of experience is apparent in the beautiful surroundings of Briar Hill.
